Pages per USD is 70/3 = 23 & 1/3rd, a high value.
Often, with these lower priced books, the quality of the graphics is poor or even unacceptable, but the graphics on my Android Moto phone are excellent. The author used Fritzing to create excellent breadboard pictures, and also the schematics, which are also clear and of good size.
The English is well-written, also having good spelling and grammar.
This excellent author even includes references at the end of the book, a sure sign, both of quality, and due diligence.
Highly recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2020But I did like how they had the circuit on top of page then right below it the circuit was set up on a solder less breadboard right below it. Making it real easy to do and follow along with it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2024Great book for beginners . (555) timer is my first circuit ever and nailed it with the help of this book .. I was stuck for a while B4 reading this book and wala !!! 😁 ... I need to find more by same author (Jesse Rutherford).
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2023I learned a lot from the book. Highly recommend for nubs like me, trying to learn and understand simple circuits. Starts you on a simple LED circuit, next thing you know, you have poteniameters and speakers in action! Was fun. Thanks Jesse
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2019This book does a good job at giving the history and summarizing the 555. The content is organized well.
If you are not familiar with the 555 this book will provide a good overview, however, the content here can be found, in total, on many web sites for free. Purchase this book if you want a reference to go back to again and again, otherwise save your money.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2020What a relief. I tried to read-and even bought-a few Kindle Unlimited books on electronics, before I realized that, as a category, Kindle Unlimited books are self-published. That usually means that they have not been edited or proofread. If the book is fiction, that may not matter too much, but if it's a technical manual, as this is, lack of proofreading alone can turn it into worthless crap. Particularly when the writer is not a native English speaker. This book is exceptional in that it takes two essential parts of electronics, using a breadboard and wiring an IC, and describes them in clear, step-by-step english. I recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2021Too basic need real examples of workable circuits etc is motion section alarm out interface relay to handle power needed
Would not recommend
- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2018Great book. Jesse himself told me about it when i asked him on ig. I bought it on his word and it is worth every penny. I do a lot of circuit bending etc etc and I'm familiar with the 555 but this is an excellent way to brush up and learn things you probably missed. If your a beginner this will level you up quickly. Everything is shown in pictures after the descriptions so it's kinda hard to mess up. Well well well worth the money...

3.0 out of 5 stars Dünnes Büchlein für den Preis
Auf wenigen Seiten mit vielen Bildern wird allerdings recht verständlich erklärt, wie man einfache Schaltkreise um den 555 Chip aufbaut. Schon eher für blutige Anfänger! :P
